Peter Wayne Lamonte, a loving, devoted and cherished father, son and brother passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, LA. Peter was born November 12, 1954 in New Orleans, LA and was a lifelong resident of Greenwell Springs, LA. He was a member of Saint Alphonsus Catholic Church. Peter was retired from Lamonte and Son Excavating Services. He loved cooking, family gatherings and all things sports. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, but his true love was the purple and gold of his beloved Tigers. He served as a Marshall at LSU home games for over 20 years. Peter is survived by his son, Jonathan Wayne Lamonte; two sisters: Joycelyn Marie Lamonte and Judy Lamonte Soileau; three nephews: Tony (Colleen), Aaron, and Jared (Lareina); five great-nieces and nephews; one great-great niece; goddaughter, Allison Moody Signorelli; caregiver, Denise Fruge, and a host of other family and special friends. Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Frances Musacchia Lamonte; grandparents, Sam and Giacomina Lamonte, Anthony and Virginia Musacchia and a godson, Patrick Wayne Musacchia. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA from 6 until 9 pm. A funeral mass celebrating Peter’s life will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, 14450 LA 442, Tickfaw, LA. Interment will follow at Tickfaw Catholic Cemetery.
