

Phyllis Spalding Darvill, entered into her eternal home on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at the age of 90. Mum was a loving and devoted mother, always placing her children before herself. She loved life and she had a great sense of humor.
She is survived by her children, Gerard “Jeff” Darvill (Donna), John Darvill ,and Susan Darvill; four grandchildren, Corey Darvill, Lauren Krafft (Brucker), Ashley Diedrich (Ryan), and Justin Darvill; two great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Jameson Krafft; niece, Julie Spalding; and nephews, Kevin and Martin Spalding. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Alan Darvill; parents, Frank and Ethel Skipper Spalding; and her brothers, Jeff, Jim, and Derick Spalding.
Phyllis was a Lay minister her entire life beginning in England at Hoo St. Werburgh and retired here in Baton Rouge from University Methodist Church. She was faithfully devoted to her church and enjoyed being a part of the Sunday school class, and Christmas program, reciting 9 Lessons and carols. Phyllis was in several clubs, including British club, bridge club, book club, and her Tuesday Lunch Brunch. She loved spending time with her family and friends and playing the piano. Phyllis will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, on Thursday, March 25 from 4 pm until 7 pm. It will continue on Friday, March 26 from 12 noon until time of service at 1 pm at University Methodist Church, 3350 Dalrymple Drive, Baton Rouge, LA.
