

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be so deeply missed by her family and all who knew her, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, surrounded by her adoring family. She was born July 31, 1933, in Napoleonville, LA, and lived 84 glorious years. She was a cancer warrior, surviving lymphoma cancer at the age of 77, a devoted LSU Tiger fan, a faithful parishioner of St. George Catholic Church, and a life-long resident of Baton Rouge, LA. She enjoyed nothing more than celebrating life with her family and friends as well as spoiling her grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Connie Lynn Mire Woodward and husband, Thad; two sons, Mark Gerard Mire and wife, Catherine, and Jeffery Scott Mire and wife, Jan; five grandchildren, Brandon Woodward and wife, Nicole, Kelly Covington and husband, James, Nicholas, Christopher and Cole Mire; six great-grandchildren, Abigail, Andrew and Abel Covington, and Austin, Jacob and Luke Woodward; sisters, Lorraine Chambers, Carmel McClure, and Marie Cook; brothers, Johnny Hubert and wife, Judy, and Jimmy Hubert; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Phyllis is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Connie Ray Mire; parents, Lillian Aucoin Hubert and Armond J. Hubert; brothers, Edgar and Gerald Hubert; sisters, Patricia A. Hubert, Margaret Templet and Lillian “Tot” Montgomery. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, November 2, 2017, from 5:00PM to 9:00PM. Visitation will resume at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George Dr., Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, November 3, 2017, from 9:00AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM, celebrated by the Fr. Michael Schatzle. Entombment will immediately follow in St. George Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Phyllis’s name to the Lymphoma Research Foundation, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the charity of your choice.
