Ralph Edmond Burt

Ralph Edmond Burt went to be with the Lord early Tuesday morning, August 6, 2013. He was born in New Orleans, LA on December 12, 1925 to Harry Robinson Burt and Eloise Hanlon Burt. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps, and was a retired bond underwriter for Aetna Insurance. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St, Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, August 9, 2013 from 11am until funeral service at 1:30pm, conducted by Rev. Carol Civils. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary. Serving as Pallbearers will be Tristan Layne Roberts, Max Earl Allen, Forrest Shad Roberts, Lawrence John Paulsen, James Robert Jeansonne, and Dr. Alfred Gene Stevens. Honorary Pallbearers are Russell Todd Roberts and Steve Knox. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Janelle "Jan" Burt; his daughter, Brenda Burt Roberts and her husband Gregory Warren Roberts; his son, David James Burt and his wife Karen Lynn Burt; and his grandchildren: Kimberly Ann Burt, Megan Diane Burt, Chelsea Ann Roberts, Paige Leslie Roberts, and Tristan Layne Roberts and his wife Molly Dart Roberts. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his brother, Harry Robinson Burt, Jr. Mr. Burt was a member of Lake Kiowa Kiwanis Club, Volunteer Ministries of Whaley United Methodist Church in Gainesville, TX, and was a Lay Leader for the Texoma Walk to Emmaus. He enjoyed travelling, loved to golf, hunt and fish, and collected duck decoys.
