Born on April 23, 1923 in Minden, Nebraska.
Ralph joined the US Navy and became an underwater welder during WWII. He met Aline T. Vogel at a military dance and moved to New Orleans to marry her in 1947. He then worked as a welder for Tenneco Refinery, now known as Exxon Mobile. After hurricane Katrina they relocated to Baton Rouge, LA.. In 2008, after his wife of 60 years’ passing, Ralph moved to Mccomb, MS. To be nearer to his family.
Ralph had the ability to invent or solve any problem he ran across and was a fantastic teacher, father, and grandfather. He was a man so kind, compassionate and loving towards others, that whenever someone needed help he was there willingly with no questions asked. He often stopped to help random strangers, and would give you the shirt off his back. He could out work most 30 year old men till he was well into his 80’s. He was often found on top of roofs, riding a bike, hammering and welding new life into any old item in the shop, climbing a tree with a chainsaw, or at the neighbors doing some job to help.
Ralph enjoyed his time at the Claiborne Baton Rouge before Passing away peacefully at The Carpenter’s House on January 19, 2023, at the age of 99.
Survived by his daughter Robin, grandchildren Guy Rodney Naquin Jr., and Jonathan Lane Wheat and great grandchildren Adalyn Grace Naquin and Ruby Anniston Naquin.
Words cannot describe how hard it was to say goodbye for the last time but we can smile knowing he is happy and pain free once again with Jesus and catching up with his wife from the last 13 years she missed.
In honor of his 100th birthday, there was a Celebration of Life held on April 22, 2023 at 1:30 at Greenoaks Funeral home.
