Randolph H. Hutchinson

A resident and native of Baton Rouge, he died Monday, May 23, 2011, at his home in Baton Rouge. He was 73. Survived by his wife, Sarah Hutchinson; children, Don Hutchinson, Katie Hutchinson Marceaux, Randy Hutchinson Jr. and Francis Hutchinson; grandchildren, Dylan Hutchinson, Anne Marie Hutchinson, Mary Elizabeth Hutchinson, Destiny Hutchinson, Brianna Hutchinson, Serenity Hutchinson and Ava Hutchinson; and brother, Warren Hutchinson. Preceded in death by his ex-wife, Dollie Marie Schexnayder Hutchinson; father, Clifton Randolph Hutchinson; mother, Erhman Hayes Hutchinson; and brother, Ray Hutchinson. Randy was one of the most compassionate, giving people I know. He never met a stranger and worked for more than 40 years in a successful grocery business. He ran a newspaper delivery route and continued in this business for many years for The Advocate. In recent years, he was employed as a courier at A-Z Delivery, where he continued to share his most amazing, cheery attitude toward life. His most prized accomplishments were his children and grandchildren. He spent most of his weekends filled with their delightful company. He was a country music connoisseur who enjoyed sports, working crossword puzzles and spending time with his family. As per his wishes, he will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A private memorial will be scheduled at a later date.
