

Dr. Raymond Kelley Hunter, 73, born on Feb. 7, 1940, passed away surrounded by his family and friends with an abundance of LOVE on Jan 5th 2014. He was a loving husband to Diane, his fabulous wife, his ROCK of 40 years, as well as an unbelievable father to 3 sons Kevin, Mark, Scott and grandfather to 3 Haylen, Jake and Brady. In addition he was a devoted son to his mother Mona. Ray Ray as he was famously nicknamed by his granddaughter Haylen, served his country as a Captain in the Army. He was a patriotic leader in his community and with his family. He practiced dentistry for over 40 years in Baton Rouge. He is survived by his mother Mona Hunter, wife Diane Stokes Hunter; sons Kevin Hunter, Mark and wife Jillian DiIorio Hunter, Scott Hunter and Denton Faerber; Granddaughter Haylen; Grandsons Jake and Brady. He was preceded in death by his father John D Hunter, brother JD Hunter, and nephew John Hunter. He leaves a sister in law, Sara Wolfe, nieces Layne Gambel and her husband Gary, Mary McCann and her husband, Brian; and many, many other family and friends. Ray Ray had a great love for life, family and friends! Everyday was an adventure and opportunity to learn something new and share his knowledge with others. He had the God given ability to make everyone feel good and loved, just by being in his presence. In his spare time he would either dream or tell stories of being on the water, his Southpass/Alaskan /Argentina hunting and fishing excursions, his many cruises around the world and road trips throughout the US, all with his amazing wife by his side. Along his unbelievable journey the one constant, no matter where he was or who he was with, he would always have a great time and his wonderful sense of humor, timed to perfection, would always keep people belly rolling"¦ Visitation will be held at 9:30am Thursday Jan 9th, 2014 followed by a Memorial Service at 10:30am at Our Lady of Mercy Church 445 Marquette Baton Rouge La 70806. Services will be celebrated by Fr. Cleo Milano and Rev. Chris Andrews. Interment will be at 2:00 PM at Rayne Cemetery, Rayne La.
