Rene Alvarez, 39, a resident of Baton Rouge and native of Santa Rosa de Lima de Partamento La Union, El Salvador, San Sal Vador, C.A. He passed away heroically saving another life Sunday, Nov.13, 2011. Rene was a construction worker with Performance Contractors. Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 18, at St. George Catholic Church in Baton Rouge at 1 p.m. Visitation will follow funeral services at Greenoaks Funeral Home from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home Saturday, Nov. 19, from 1 p.m. until graveside services at 3 p.m. at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
