Rhonda “Billy Goat” Morgan Stanford went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 21, 2021. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family. She was 59 years old and a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge. Rhonda was a loving wife, daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She never met a stranger or an animal she didn’t genuinely care for and her faith in God was her strongest muscle. She was a wonderful cook and a beautiful soul. She was a constant presence in the lives of her family and taught them to be loving, kind, compassionate, selfless, and strong people through her own example. Sundays were her favorite day, not only because it was the Lord’s day, but because it was a day to spend with family. She is preceded in death by her father, George Morgan, and niece, Hailey Barr. Rhonda is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jimmy Stanford, daughter’s Jamie Marino (John) and Amy Stanford (Ben Tecza), son Jimmy Jr (Kim), mother Rosalie Morgan, sisters Janet Crafton (Doug) and Renee Haydel (Timmy), brother Doug Morgan (Camille), granddaughters Breanna and Sophia Stanford, aunt Marie Richard, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to thank St. Joseph’s Hospice for the wonderful care that was given to Rhonda in her final days. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM with service to follow immediately after. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Rhonda’s name to be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
