Richard Alonzo Hughes

Richard Alonzo Hughes a native of Lutcher and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Sunday August 21, 2016 at his residence at the age of 91. He was a retired Electrician Supervisor with Gulf States Utilities Company with over forty years of service. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in WWII. Richard was a Member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Otey Marvin Hughes and Julie M. Richard Hughes; his son, Keith Hughes; his granddaughter, Kristina Delaney; two brothers, Marvin and Pete Hughes. Richard is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elaine C. Hughes; his son Kerry Hughes and his wife Cyndi; daughter Kim Renee’ Hughes and David Hadskey; four grandchildren, Jessica Dawson, Nicole Joles, Sheri Ammons, Laurie Hughes and thirteen great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Louis Randolph Babin, Eugene Marionneaux, David Hadskey, Blake Ammons, Joseph Joles, Jim Dawson, Steven Temple and Jeremie Long. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Wednesday August 24, 2016 from 5pm-9pm. Visitation will resume on Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church beginning at 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
