
passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015 at the age of 92. She met her husband, Walter, in an air raid shelter during WWII in
Koblenz, Germany. Since she spoke English, she worked for the American military government as a translator
for many years following the war. She came to the United State in 1947 and lived in New York and moved to Baton Rouge
in 1956. She was a member and elder at Broadmoor Presbyterian Church, where she was also a member of the church choir.
She enjoyed visiting the shut-ins from the church. She volunteered with AARP as a tax aid for 25 years. She was asked to speak publicly
by many organizations about her war experiences and her first years in the United States. She is survived by her daughter,
Ann Arnold and husband, Jack;and grandsons, Kyle Arnold and David Johnson. She was preceded
in death by her husband, Walter Brown; daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and David Johnson; and
her brother, Guido Herb. A graveside service will be held at
Greenoaks Memorial Park on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Broadmoor
Presbyterian Church at 9340 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70815.
