

Robert David “Bob” Barnett a native of Kokomo, Indiana and resident of Baton Rouge and formerly of Baker, walked into heaven on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center at the age of 73. Bob served our country in the United States Army from 1964-1968. He was a graduate of Florida State University and was an extremely fierce Seminole fan. Bob served in many capacities with The U.S. Jaycees and was honored to be a Jaycee Senator. He will be remembered for his dry wit and his always present sense of humor. Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Hunt; father, David Barnett; son, Christopher Barnett; sisters, Patty Ramsey and Cathy Kelly. Bob is survived by his first wife of 51 years, Judith Ann Barnett; son, Jim Barnett and daughter-in-law, Kim; grandchildren, Kaleigh, Micah, Nathan and Kelci, all of whom he adored; brother-in-law, Bob Robertson of Alexandria, VA; and a host of family and friends from Virginia to Indiana to Louisiana. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 11 am- 12 pm, with an Episcopalian funeral mass starting at 12 pm. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park in the Garden of Valor. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to The Blue Star Mothers of Louisiana, Chapter 1: P.O. Box 86507 Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70879, because of their dedication and support of our military and Gold Star families.
