Robert "Bob" E. Luker, Sr., passed away peacefully in his home in Baton Rouge. A home that sits on the same property that he grew up on since he was a young boy. Bob was a dedicated man who lived his life wholeheartedly doing the things he loved. From being creative in his enthusiasm and fondness of metal and woodworking to his passion for his love of adventure for the great outdoors. He cherished his time spent fishing and hunting with his father and older brother that he reveled in the moments doing the same with his children. The joy was the same if the fishing trip ended with frying fish for the entire neighborhood or if the day was spent in the drizzling rain, freezing in Leesville without a bite. He also had a love of music that was cultivated from his youth while dancing and teaching in his mothers dance school. That adoration of music led him to playing the trumpet and bugle in the United States Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Team. He served on the Goodwill Music Tours which consisted of traveling the world on three separate tours. Bob went on to retire from Ethyl/Albermarle, after 37 years of dedication and continued to enjoy the things he loved, which included gardening, golfing, dancing, motorcycling, and cooking. Most importantly, he devoted himself to serving Jehovah, many years ago and faithfully held steadfast and continued in that service until his death. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, James Bryan and Margaret Ellen Luker; brothers: James Bryan Luker, Jr. and David Luker; and grandparents, James and Blanche Martin. Bob is survived by his wife, Stannie M. Luker, and their children: Kelly Payne, Jodi Toole, Robert Luker II, and Martin "Marty" Luker. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren: Cristy Templet, Lindsey Guillot, Cassandra Rockford, Austin Rockford, Jordan Luker, Taylor Luker, Jacob Luker, Chase Luker, and Madison Luker; 6 great-grandchildren: Briannah Luke, Jacee' Diez, Mason Diez, Bane Guillot, Oliver Luker, and Rubie Luker; 3 great-great-grandchildren: Lawson, Lukas, and Lillian Folks; nephews: James and Michael Luker; sister-in-law, Marilyn Luker; and numerous cousins. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 11000 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70815. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Bob’s memory to a charity of your choice.
