Robert Cary Pennington passed away Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. He was 88 and a native of Baton Rouge. He was a veteran of World War II and master plumber. He was part owner of Landry and Pennington Plumbing Co. of Baton Rouge. He is survived by two daughters, Mary Pennington Tourres and husband David Tourres, and Kathy Pennington Ponthieaux and husband Dr. Ron Ponthieux Jr.; two sons, James Milton Pennington and wife Brenda Pennington, and Michael Pennington and wife Arby Pennington; seven grandchildren, Kevin Hernandez, Jonathan Tourres, Ally Smith, Haley and Olivia Ponthieux, Patrick and Michelle Pennington; and two sisters, Rita P. Brian and Masie P. Raymon. He was preceded in death by his wife, June Pennington; parents, Sidney and Florance Pennington; and brother, Sidney Pennington. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday, Sept. 2, from 9 a.m. until religious service in the chapel at noon, conducted by Mr. Ted McIntyre. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
