Ecclesiastes 3:1-2. Robert Horace Weaver Jr., a native of Dallas and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, died peacefully at his home Friday, April 9, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. A selfless, God-fearing man of tremendous work ethic, he excelled in all areas of his life: strong faith, deep devotion to family, love of study and learning, service to others and enjoyment of music, art and all things of beauty. He was born April 3, 1927, and was a veteran of World War II and employed by Exxon for nearly 50 years. He was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Texas and received advanced degrees at the University of Chicago and at LSU. A member of First Presbyterian Church and Baton Rouge Country Club, he had been a member of numerous professional. civic and social organizations. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Geraldine Bullock Weaver; two daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Brock Kantrow, and Aimee and Mark Broussard; five grandchildren, twins Richard and Aimee Claire Whitehurst, David Whitehurst, and twins Robert Austin and Adele Broussard; two stepgrandchildren, Henry and Abbe Kantrow; and a sister, Dorothy Weaver Herren, of Houston. Visitation at First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, April 10, from 1 p.m. until religious service at 3 p.m. Private burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park.
