Roland “Chip” G. Martin Jr., a longtime resident of Jarreau and a native of Baton Rouge, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the age of 55. He was an avid fisherman, had a love of cooking and was a veteran of The U.S. Navy. Chip is survived by two brothers, Ronald W. Martin and companion Carolyn Andre and John T. Martin and wife Teresa; and two nephews, Daniel G. Martin and Wesley C. Martin and wife Maggie. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roland Martin Sr. and LaVergne Martin. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, October 12, 2012 from 5pm until 8 pm and resume Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 10am until funeral service at 12pm.
