

Former Broadmoor High School teacher, Ronald Wise McCoy, passed away early Tuesday morning, 2/3/2018. He taught mechanical drawing and industrial arts to many of the city's most successful men and women. He was a caring and compassionate husband, a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, son and brother. He enjoyed sharing his many passions with his students, family and friends. Ronnie loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a master craftsman in woodworking and loved everything "LSU Tigers." Mr. McCoy is survived by his wife Patricia McCoy, his daughter Katie Avery Leinweber of Scottsdale, AZ (husband Mark, children Scott and Lauren), his son Jeff Avery of Grapevine, TX (wife Kerry, children, Brandon and wife Ana, and Brian and wife Lindsey; grandchildren Everett, Eli and Aiden.) Sister are Ann McCoy Broughton of Oak Vale, MS and Dorothy McCoy Nay of Ovilla, TX. He is preceded in death by his father, Carl Calvin McCoy, Sr., and Aurilla Wise McCoy, and his brother, Carl Calvin McCoy, Jr. and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, February 16, 2018 beginning at 6pm until 8pm and will resume on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 12:30pm until funeral service beginning at 2pm.
