
A native and resident of Baton Rouge, she died at Our Lady of theLakeRegionalMedicalCenterat 11:20 p.m.Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, surrounded by her family. She was 65. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, Oct. 26, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., with a rosary at 8 p.m. Visiting at St. George Catholic Church on Friday from 10 a.m. until funeral Mass at noon, with the Rev. Mike Schatzle, celebrant. Entombment in St. George Mausoleum. She is survived by Henry Samuel Decuir Jr. (aka "Lightning"), her husband of 45 years; daughter and son-in-law, Clarissa and Joseph Sanford Sr.; sons and daughters-in-law, Cortez and Laurie Decuir, Carlos and Terri Decuir, Cordell and Toya Decuir, and Cartrell and Joscelyn Decuir; six granddaughters, Dominque, Candace, Morgan, Cordé, Casen and Jillian Decuir; seven grandsons, Miles, Joshua, Cordell Jr., Malik and Cole Decuir, and Joseph Jr. and Miguel Sanford; a great-grandson, Ryan Arrieché; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Shelva Honoré and Gerard and Gayle Honoré; a sister, Glenda Faye Rougeau; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceded in death by her parents, Ulysses and Evelyn Honoré; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry Samuel Decuir Sr. and Rita Collins Decuir; and brother-in-law, John Rougeau. Pallbearers will be Randolph LeDuff, Joshua Decuir, Jacques Honoré Sr., Michael Domingue, Monty Matthews, Conrad Collins, Calvin Ross and Gerald Porche. Honorary pallbearers are Gerard Honoré, Miguel Sanford, Miles Decuir, Joseph Sanford Sr. and Barry Esnault. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and her daily activities with Decuir Brick Masonry Inc. will be deeply missed. The Decuir family would like to extend special thanks to the staff and nurses of Dr. Jude Patton's office at the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, Dr. Tannier and staff at M.D. Anderson Caner Center, Houston, and the entire nursing staff of floor T-5 west at Our Lady of the Lake.
