
A native of Ethel and resident of Baton Rouge, she passed away Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet in the presence of family. She was 93, born April 18, 1917. She was co-owner and operator of Perry Brake and Wheel Alignment for 29 years. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday, Jan. 18, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting resumes in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, Jan. 19, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Alvin Hall. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by her son, Russell Rene Perry Jr. and wife Shirley Doughty Perry; three grandchildren, Kim Austin and husband Chris Austin, Alison Averett, and Elizabeth Perry; two great-grandchildren, Honor Perry and Haley Pirello; and great-great-grandson, Lennon Perry Marchan. Preceded in death by her husband, Russell Rene Perry Sr.; parents, William Wood and Henrietta McKay Wood; two brothers, J. Kenneth Wood Sr. and Alex Gordon Wood; two sisters, Mary Ann Wood Champagne and Jane Wood Lanoue; and great-grandson, Christopher Wayne Austin. Pallbearers will be Robert J. Deaton, Charles Lanoue, Gene Lanoue, Chris Austin, Louis Champagne, Jim Berry and, posthumously, Christopher Austin, who adored "Maw-Maw" and confided in her. We all loved her and will greatly miss her.
