"Rosemary Hebert passed away peacefully on February 18, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 77 years old. Daughter of the late Roy Lee and Rosa Lee Bates and beloved wife of Eric J. Hebert Jr. Rosemary was born in Gatesville, TX and relocated to Baton Rouge at age 17. Her early career was in banking until she went to real estate school in 1974. She continued to be a successful real estate agent for over 30 years and was frequently referred to as "the consummate real estate agent" as her clients were always her first priority. After retiring, she and her husband Eric enjoyed camping in their motor home and went on to make lifelong friendships through their camping trips. When not camping she loved working in her flower garden and was never happier than when she was wrist deep in gardening soil. Preceded in death by her brother Weldon "Larry" Bates, she is survived by the true love of her life Eric J. Hebert Jr. Children, Patricia Thomason Carter and husband Bob Carter, Pamela Thomason Collins and Jim Snedigar, and H. Allen Thomason Jr. and wife Karen Thomason. Her adored grandchildren are Ashley E Collins and Amy C Murphy and husband Dan Murphy, Michaela E Thomason and Austin R Thomason. She also has an 18 month old great grandson Jackson D Murphy and brothers Roy 'Buddy* Bates and Thomas Bates. Pallbearers will be Ricky Hebert, Dennis Barbier, John Bickham, Dan Murphy, Jim Snedigar and Preston Boyd. Honorary pallbearers are Bob Carter, Austin Thomason, Dr. Gary Black, and Charles Bradley. Rosemary loved life and will always be remembered as the beautiful, feisty redhead who never met a stranger. Her deep love of others had an enormous impact on the lives of those she touched. Her passing leaves an enormous void for those of us left behind, but we are thankful that she is pain free and in her forever home. Special thanks to Hospice of Baton Rouge and Quality Care Sitter Service. We especially thank her primary care givers Mildred Green, Beatrice Johnson, and Angie Morrison. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East located at 11000 Florida Blvd. on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. Visitation will resume Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Rabenhorst starting at 9:00am until services in the funeral home chapel at 10:00am with interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
