
"Loving matriarch, cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother." She was an exercise and health enthusiast, avid LSU fan, talented seamstress, chef extraordinaire and a friend to all. Rosina, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of St. Francisville, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at St. James Place at age 91. She was the doting wife of 58 years to the Merlin T. Henderson, who preceded her in death, and was a member of First United Methodist Church. She taught at the School for the Deaf in her earlier years after graduating from LSU, where she obtained a master's degree in physical education. Mrs. Henderson is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Garrick and husband Charlie, of North Augusta, S.C., Nancy Hall, of Breaux Bridge, and Patricia Tompanis and husband Nick, of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn and Elaine Norsworthy; 11 grandchildren, Melanie Royster, Andrew Barr, Kristina Cota, Patrick Garrick, Christopher Garrick, Rachel Billingham, Nicole Hall, Adina Slack, Erika Thornton, Ryan Tompanis and Alyssa Kamzura; and 17 great-grandchildren, Michael, Drew, April, Kaitlyn, Andrew, Martin, Madison, Piper, Alex, Ivory, Jacob, Avery, Olivia, Sullivan, Emily, Amanda and Sam. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home chapel on Thursday, Jan. 3, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Michael Hammett. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
