Ross J. Williams Jr., a resident of Baton Rouge, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. He was 85. He retired from the Louisiana Department of Highways as an appraiser and was a veteran of World War II who served in the U.S. Navy. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday, Feb. 24, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Visitation resumes on Saturday, Feb. 25, from noon until religious services in the chapel at 2 p.m. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. Survivors include a daughter, Wendy Caputa and husband Randy; two sons, Ross Williams III and wife Anna, and Jeffrey Williams and wife Dawn; two sisters, Geraldine Carlton and Bettye Williams; six grandchildren, Casey Caputa, Tara Caputa, Sarah Williams, Taylor Williams, Mason Williams and Parker Williams. Preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Maillet Williams; parents, Ross J. Williams Sr. and Agnes Fugler Williams; and a brother, Calvin Williams.
