"Born Aug. 19, 1943-Died Sept. 8, 2016. Roy W. Corkern was preceded in death by his father Ray Corkern, mother Mabel Galloway-Corkern, Sisters: Doris Quintanilla and Carolyn Knepper, daughter J.Christine Guidry and a beloved grandchild, Natalie C. Corkern. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Virgie L. Corkern, Daughters; Cheri Corkern-Benham, Cynthia Corkern-Provorse, Priscilla Corkern-Simoneaux and Pamela Corkern-Davis and a sister Clara Woods. Together they had 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A hard worker all his life, first in law enforcement in Covington. Then a Supervisor in the Plant Industry. He loved to tell the story of how many ice cream cones he had to buy from Virgie before their first date. His ability to tell a great story and sense of humor will be missed.
