
Roy Wilson McCoy Jr. passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Carpenter's House of St. Joseph's Hospice. He was 78, a native of Bienville, LA, and resident of Baton Rouge. Roy was a member of First United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge and the Men's Coffee and Bible study group. He was a member of the Baton Rouge Lifewriters. Roy was Dean Emeritus of I.T.I. College. Roy is survived by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Corcoran McCoy; a daughter, Kathryn McCoy Russell and husband David of Colorado Springs; a son, Kevin McCoy and wife Anna Helene of Jacksonville, FL; a sister, Jeanne McCoy Paella of Lexington, MA; a brother-in-law, Ernest "Corkey" Corcoran and wife Jacquolene "Jackie" of Decatur, AL.; grandchildren, Travis Russell, Shawntelle E. McCoy, Rachael McCoy Braud and husband Raymond, Sarah A. McCoy Dugas and husband Bryan; great-grandchildren, Evie "Evelyn" Braud, Jessica Braud, Loralei Braud; Joseph and Marilyn Dugas; and nephews, Robert Corcoran, Michael Corcoran and Bryan Corcoran. Roy is preceded in death by parents, Roy and Eva "Evelyn" McCoy. He was a member of Karios Prison Ministries. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at First United Methodist Church, 930 North Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA, 9:00 a.m. until memorial services at 10:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Brady Whittton. In lieu of flowers, donations may made be to Howard Bolton at St. Vincent DePaul Pharmacy, Men's Office or Knitting Ministry.
