

Ruby Guerin, age 88, passed away peacefully at her home in walker on Thursday, August 21, 2025, with her loving family by her side. Ruby was born February 7th, 1937, in Baton Rouge, LA. Ruby married the love of her life, Bert, on February 12, 1952. They had one beautiful daughter, Janice Marie, which she adored. She started working at a young age for Stroube’s drug store, A&P and then IBM as a keypunch operator. She then worked for Louisiana Wildlife and Fishers before retiring for 30 years as the director’s secretary. In addition to those occupations, she worked an additional 22 years part-time for the Louisiana Wildlife Federation. Ruby loved traveling with Bert in their motorhome. They belonged to the FMCA Crusin Cajun Chapter, where she also volunteered as the registration chairman for 31 years. She also volunteered with the March of Dimes and LPB. Ruby loved her family, friends and dancing. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her kind soul.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Gordon, Her “Favorite Son-in-law” (Scott), her granddaughter Sierra Teekel, great-grandchildren, Olivia Hebert and Sydnie Teekel, her sister, Darlene Langlois, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
She preceded in death by her parents; Robert and Julia Lopez Bergeron and two brothers; Dennis and Roy Bergeron.
The family would like to extend special thanks to her caregiver, Pam and The Hospice Of Baton Rouge.
Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Gordon, Robert Bergeron, Terry Creasy, Craig Hebert, and Avin Langlois, along with honorary pallbearer, Grady Hill.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George Dr., Baton Rouge, LA. from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to start at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd., 70815.
Family has requested donations to made to St.George Catholic church or The Hospice Of Baton Rouge.
