

Salvador "Rabbit" Coniglio, 63, a native of Independence and resident of Denham Springs, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Frances Sanders Coniglio; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Salvador Paul and Julie E. Plank Coniglio, and Darryl John Coniglio; two grandsons, Samuel Hunter Woods and Nathan Paul Plank; two sisters, Sara Coniglio Blackwell, of New Orleans, and Gena Coniglio Wyble, of Denham Springs; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucy and Nace Coniglio, who were of Independence; a brother, Johnny Joseph Coniglio, who was of Independence; a sister, Phyllis Coniglio Houghton; and brothers-in-law, Joseph Houghton and Daniel H. Blackwell Sr. Salvador was a reputable businessman in the electrical business for many years working in East Baton Rouge, Livingston and surrounding parishes. He was an avid bass fisherman who enjoyed including his children and grandchildren in his hobbies. He also enjoyed fishing the St. Jude Children's Tournaments when possible. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Saturday, Nov. 27, from 10 a.m. until service time at 12 p.m. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
