Sena Smith Mansur, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and mother-in-law, passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at her home in Baton Rouge. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Monday, Feb. 8, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Tuesday, Feb. 9, from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. Sena was 85, born in Covington, raised in Centerville, Miss., and after marrying Edward Mansur, lived in Baton Rouge. She devoted her life to her husband and family. Sena was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy S. Smith and Mamie S. Medlin and spouse Dr. Vernon Medlin; two daughters and their spouses, Paula and Newman Roblin and Freida and David Sutton; a son and his wife, Peter and Carole Mansur; six grandchildren, Susan Mansur Jones, Lisa Roblin Madere, Mary Mansur Whitfield, Edward Ross Sutton, Michael Peter Mansur, Peter Christopher Roblin and their spouses; along with 17 precious great-grandchildren who adored their Granny Mansur. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Edward Charles Mansur; sister, Charlene Smith Dreher; brothers, George S. Smith and Frederick Smith; and granddaughter, Sara Claire Mansur. Granny Mansur loved nurturing animals, especially, her dog, Jack, and gardening with her daughter. Her family was her great joy and her Lebanese cooking was enjoyed by all. We will miss her quiet simplicity and gentle spirit. Donations to: Baton Rouge Hospice, St. Jude Children's Research Hospitalor Catholic High School.
