Shirley Juanita Mullens Dieterich

Shirley Dietrich passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, September 2, 2024. She was born in Kentucky on May 10, 1943 and she was resident of Denham Springs, Louisiana at the time of her death. She graduated from La Salette Academy in Covington, KY in 1961. Those who were fortunate to know her, knew her as kind, full of expressions and very loving. If you knew her in her early age, you knew her as the one who loved to shop year-round and always knew where the deals were.

She is survived by her children and spouses Richard Lay and wife Debbie, Natalie Leary and husband Patrick, and Jennifer Lay; grandchildren Tori and husband Brennan Achord, Megan and Joshua Lay, Amber Guzzardo, Kimberly Sanchez and fiancé Michael Valence, Christina, Miranda, and Taylor Lay, Brooke Leary and fiancé’ Josh Kinsley and Logan Leary, as well as 14 great-grandchildren

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Dietrich, by her parents, William Mullens and Bernice Jones, sister and brother-in-law, Patrica and Gilbert Fleek, and grandson, Thomas Lay.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Harvest Manor skilled nursing facility and Lifesource Hospice who provided love, care, and support for their loved one.

A viewing will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Sept 6 from 5:00pm to 7:30pm with a service following.
