A retired salesman and former owner of Mongo's Tobacco and Beer, he was a resident of Baton Rouge and native of Santa Cruz, Calif. Steven passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at his residence. He was 66 and an Army veteran. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Wednesday, Aug. 24, from 5 p.m. until memorial service at 7 p.m. Steven is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patricia Cane; and daughter, Nicole Cane. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur I. Cane; mother, Mildred L. Knight Cane; and grandparents, Samuel and Sara Cane. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CAAWS of Baton Rouge.
