

"Bettie Sue" to friends and family and "Nanny" to her grandchildren, Sue Keating passed away Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, surrounded by family that loved her absolutely. She was a native of Brookhaven, Miss., and a longtime resident of Central. After retiring from the Louisiana Office of Conservation, she found joy and contentment in life's simple pleasures, like reading and visiting. Sue will be remembered for her quiet manner and devotion to those she loved. She is survived by her children, Kerri Keating, Tom Keating and wife Renee, Todd Keating and wife Toni, and Ross Keating and wife Sharon; grandchildren, Shawn Keating and wife Jennifer, Joshua Wilson and wife Kelly, Jacob Wilson and wife Leslie, Candace Carroll and husband Brad, Griffin Keating, Landon Keating, Kendall Keating, Hannah Keating and Grant Keating; and great-grandchildren, Brennan and Noah Wilson, Keating Carroll and Tyner Keating. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Keating; and brothers, Calvin and Mac Cheairs. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 21, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday at 10 a.m., with a funeral service at noon, conducted by Pastor Wayne Austin. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
