

Sylvia Langlois Darce, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, died November 7, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was 78. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, retired from Olinde's Furniture after 25 years and then retired from The Rubber House of Baton Rouge after 20 years of service. Visitation will be Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 10 a.m. - noon until Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jack Nutter, celebrant. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park, under the direction of Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Boulevard. Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Marie Langlois, Bernice Fabre Langlois and step-father, Ignace Joseph Langlois and daughter, Shirley Ann Schilling Babin. Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Ann Schilling Smith and son-in-law, Glenn G. Smith, Sr., her sisters Alice L. Reine and brother-in-law Patrick Reine and Patricia L. Bizette and brother-in-law Gary Bizette, all of Baton Rouge; six grandchildren, Glenn G. Smith, Jr. of Pearland, TX, Amy Catherine Smith Wilson and Claire Elaine Smith of Baton Rouge, Sarah Ann Smith of Houston, TX, Leo Joseph "Joey" Babin, III of Denham Springs and Michelle Foret of Baton Rouge. Pallbearers will be Glenn G. Smith, Sr., Glenn G. Smith, Jr., Gary Bizette, Leo Joseph "Joey" Babin, III, Dr. Greg Bizette, Chris Reine, Francis Lynch and Eric Delcambre. The family would like to thank her caretakers at Baton Rouge General Medical Center, especially RNs Chris and Brad at Bluebonnet ICU-B, and Chaplain Janet and Fr. Charles with Pastoral Care, and Amber Terrace during her stays.Thank you, Mother, your love and support was unending. Our love and prayers are always with you.
