Sylvia S. Graphia

A homemaker and a resident of Baton Rouge, Sylvia died at 2:53 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. She was 72 and a native of Tunica. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday, April 4, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation continues on Saturday in the funeral home chapel from 10 a.m. until religious service at noon, conducted by Monsignor Robert Berggreen and the Rev. Charlie McCants. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by her loving husband and best friend of 53 years, Anthony "Mickey" Graphia; three daughters and sons-in-law, Paula Graphia Sanchez and John F. Sanchez Jr., Sheryl Graphia Phipps and Stacy Phipps, and Dana Graphia Endsley and Dr. Ferral Endsley; son and daughter-in-law, Mickey S. Graphia and Lisa Graphia; brother, Roy L. Spillman; grandchildren, Jaci and Lacey Sanchez, Danielle McCants and husband James Adam McCants, DeAnne Hicks and husband Ryan Hicks, AnnMarie, Avery and Ashton Endsley and Mickey and Cody Graphia; great-grandchildren, Miller McCants, Tyler "Crickett" Hicks and Tate Hicks; special friend and companion, Doretha Jackson. Sylvia was preceded in death by her father, Luther Spillman; mother and stepfather, Altie Clayton Owens Kimball and Carl Kimball; and sister, Mavourine Storm. Pallbearers will be John F. Sanchez Jr., Ferral Endsley, Stacy Phipps, Mickey A. Graphia III, Cody Graphia, James Adam McCants and Ryan Hicks. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Young, Kenny Harold, Roy Spillman Sr., Tate Hicks, Miller McCants, Frank Benedetto and Mackie Langlois. She loved to fish and spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sylvia was a special friend to many. The family wishes to express their special thanks and gratitude to Dr. Judd Patten and staff of Mary Bird Perkins and the oncology nurses of Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet.
