
In God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, and my refuge; is in God. A loving wife and a devoted mother and grandmother, she passed away on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was 76, a native of Oak Grove and a resident of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Monday, Dec. 28, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Jefferson Highway, on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Michael Collins, celebrant. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by her husband of 57 years, Reuben Ruiz Jr.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Reuben III "Boo" and Nancy Ruiz, William "Billy" and Kanitta Ruiz, and Michael and Minnie Ruiz; four daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Butch Knight, Sharon and Don Sutton, Kerri and Greg Johnson, and Jaime and David Monic; 18 grandchildren and three siblings. Preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Allie Bareswill; and seven siblings. She was a member of the Baton Rouge Porcelain Art Guild and Gonzales Art Guild.
