Ted and Judy - the best deal in the Presbytery. 

Psalm 116:15 “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.”

Judy, what a pleasure and honor to have lived near by and to know you and Ted.  I pray the the God of all comfort bring you peace as only He can in this time of sorrow and pain.    May yhe Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and give you peace.

Words cannot possibly express how much Ted Roeling has meant to me.  He and his precious wife Judy have become a treasured part of our extended family.  Additionally they have both enhanced my spiritual life.  Ted's absence will deeply affect many and my heart and prayers extend to his family and multitude of dear friends.  I pray God will ease your suffering during this intense period of grief.

As a young man, Brother Ted opened his home to me without any questions. He and his family took me in even though they had 2 exchange students and their own children to to take care of. My memory of him was a true man of God. I have great memories of Lewis, Biff, and Joy. He was a great man. I’m sorry for your loss. ❤️😢 Philip Mollere. 

I just turned 70, and have known Ted for about 60 of those years. I was one of his ex officio kids, and I believe there must be thousands of us. He was my 7th grade Sunday School teacher before he even went to seminary and entered the ministry. One of the advantages in knowing someone that long is that you have heard the colorful stories, and Ted had his share. One of my favorites is about Ted and I believe a cousin learning to fly. I’m not sure exactly where this took place, but it must have been a rural farm area, hence the availability of a crop dusting plane. They checked out a book from the bookmobile on how to fly, then proceeded to study.  Apparently the librarian was somewhat concerned and made sure it was okay with the parents. They may have misjudged the boys’ determination, however, because in due time, Ted and his sidekick managed to jump enough fences to get to the local airport, pull up to the pump, and attempt to buy some fuel. The man, being somewhat suspicious of their ages, said, “I need to see your ticket.”  Ted didn’t know that meant a license, and reiterated his desire to buy some fuel.  I believe this is an example of God knowing he had big things ahead for Ted, and putting the right person in their path. The man with whom they spoke made sure they got ground school and a real pilot’s license.   
Ted was there when I got married, then was also there for me when I 
got divorced. He buried both my parents.  When I inherited a parrot, Ted taught me about birds.  He and Judy graciously served as a bird hotel when I went out of town or unexpectedly landed in the 
hospital. Judy, you truly brought joy and love to Ted’s life.  I pray that you continue to feel Ted’s love surround you like a hug.  His love for you was that big.

Ted and Judy at their retirement party in I think 2019 with her son and daughter in law. I should rephrase that because they considered the combined group of children as “theirs”. 

Mr. Ted rode around on his motorized wheelchair every night to ensure all was well at Broadmoor Orleans Townhomes.  He will be remembered by all. 

Ted was a long term son of the presbytery.  He was raised at Gentilly Presbyterian and then was a charter member when Oak Park was a new church development.  He loved Feliciana Retreat Center and Montreal, NC.  He had an impact on many youth during his time at Baker.  

Judy and family, May God surround you with his spirit during your time of loss.  Ted was a strong force in our Presbytery and his ministry will be long remembered.
