
He was born on October 4, 1937, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Frank and Caroline (Carrie) Roeling. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Michael Roeling. He is survived by his wife, The Reverend Judith (Judy) Anne Gabel Roeling; a sister, Francia Kopfler and his five children; Joy Roeling LaFleur (James), Biff Roeling (Sheila), Lewis F. Roeling (Lisa), Kelli Roeling Rogers and Jamie Ruth Roeling-Wellesley (Johnna).
He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Amanda Ellis Benoit, Jacob Roeling (Lauren), Carrie Roeling Laney, Trenton Norris (Courtney), Kayla Norris Gifford (Will), Beth Roeling Gregorie (Cole), James M. Roeling, Julia Rogers and Allee Rogers, as well as ten great-grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and treasured friends.
He is survived, as well, by Judy’s children: Anne L. Koon (Phil) and Dr. Robert H. Lutz (Suzy), and grandchildren, Collin M. Koon, Erin E. Koon, Jamie R. Lutz (Casey), and Dr. Brendan T. Lutz.
Ted’s family would like to thank the staff and devoted caregivers from At Homecare of Louisiana for their loving and faithful support during the past year, his care team at Baton Rouge General Hospital, and everyone at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice.
Visitation will be at Broadmoor Presbyterian Church, 9340 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on March 18, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., with a worship service following at 2:00 p.m.
