

"A member of "The Greatest Generation", Thomas A. Miller, Jr., 93, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 31, 2016. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, September 2, 2016 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father Cleo Milano. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Entombment will follow with full Military Honors at Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum. He was born on April 6, 1923 and was a native of Hobart, LA and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA. He was retired from Wolf's Sunbeam Bakery and Flowers Baking Company. He was a veteran of the United States Eighth Air Force and served in World War II. He was stationed in Warton, England as an aerial engineer at Base Air Depot 2. He was a charter member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. He loved traveling and working in his yard. He believed in faith, family and friends and was loved by many. He answered to many names: Thomas A. Miller, T.A., Miller, Bo, Daddy, Tom, but the one he loved the most was "Paw". Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Bernadine Swindler Miller; daughters, Sonya Claire Miller of Baton Rouge and Linda Ann Miller Hsu (Dr. Michael Hsu) of Orange, TX; grandchildren, Michael T. Wong (Jamie Baker Wong) of Baton Rouge, Dr. Carolyn Wong Garcia (Nicholas A. Garcia) of Las Vegas, NV, Jason M. Hsu of Orange, TX, and Erica A. Hsu of Orange, TX. Great-grandchildren, Thomas Miller Wong and Baby Garcia due in March 2017; sister, Norma Miller Martin and sister-in-law, Harriet Babin Miller, both of Baton Rouge; brother-in-law, Benny J. Swindler of New Roads; and sister-in-law, Anna Lee Swindler of New Roads. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas A. Miller, Sr. and Rose Landry Miller; and a brother Paul E. Miller. Pallbearers will be Dr. Michael Hsu, Jason Hsu, Brian Miller, Brian Swindler, David Wesson and Michael Wong. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: In memory of Thomas A.
