

Timothy Owen “T.O.” Smith passed away Friday, February 5, 2021, peacefully in his home surrounded by family and friends. He graduated from Baton Rouge High School in 1967. He proudly served in the United States Air Force with tours in Vietnam during the War. T.O. was respected for his 38 years of service at ExxonMobil as a Quality Assurance Facilitator. While working at ExxonMobil, his proudest achievement was co-authoring the book “ISO 9001:2000 Guidelines for the Chemical and Process Industries”. He was an avid gardener. He enjoyed cooking and was referred to as “The Rib Master” and “BBQ King”. T.O. thoroughly enjoyed golfing with his sons and fishing with his buddies. He is survived by his daughter, Tara (Stephen); sons, Jeremy (Christie), Timothy and Jacob (Shelley); seven grandchildren, Blaine, Drew, Everett, Aaren, Brenden, Kaitlyn, and Callie; one soon to be great-grandson, Kayson; brothers, Randy and David; and sisters, Cheryl and Janelle. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Joy Wallace Smith; and his parents Alonzo Jacob Smith and Mildred Guidry Smith. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, February 11, 2021, from 4:00PM until 7:00PM. Visitation will resume at Greenoaks on Friday, February 12, 2021, from 9:00AM until the time of funeral services at 10:00AM. The services will be live on Facebook. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
