Tommy Ray McKay, Jr.

"Our father has called one of his toughest and strongest angels home. On March 29, 2018 Tommy Ray McKay Jr. left his earthly home at the age of 44.  Tommy was the oldest child of Tommy Ray McKay Sr. and Mary Lee McKay (Pool). He graduated from McKinley High School in Baton Rouge, LA where he excelled in football. Throughout his life Tommy became a big fan of martial arts and studied the Tukong style.  Tommy met Quydella in 1994 and they married a year later. To this blessed union 2 children Natasha Taylor and Rayna McKay were reared.  Tommy was loved by many and he touched numerous people through his infectious humor, his work with special needs children and his occupation as a hair stylist. Tommy believed in making the world beautiful.  Tommy is preceded in death by his father Tommy Ray McKay Sr. and both maternal and paternal grandfathers.  He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 23 years Quydella McKay, two children Natasha Taylor & Rayna McKay; Mother Mary Lee McKay (Pool). Grandmothers: Velma Pool (maternal) and Mildred Burkhalter (paternal). Siblings; Timothy Ard, Delometria McKay and Kenneth McKay; Grandchildren, Jerriemiyah Taylor and Brianna Parker. Tommy also leaves a host of brother & sister in laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends to cherish his memory.  Visitation will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, LA from 3:00 p.m. until the Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m.  A reception will follow immediately in the Rabenhorst Reception Center.
