

Travis "Buddy" Vennard Ware, age 80, passed away the morning of Saturday, July 8th, 2023. Travis was born on Aug 2nd, 1942 in Baton Rouge, LA. He married his childhood sweetheart, Janis Carol Roath Ware, on Dec 26th, 1963. Together, they raised five children. He was a United States Air Force Veteran, a Master Electrician, and an accomplished woodworker. He was a member of the IBEW Local Union 832, a Deacon of Victory Baptist Church in Walker, LA, and enjoyed spending time with his family. He dedicated himself to serving the community through his church work as a Deacon of Victory Baptist Church and Brookstown Baptist Church. He never met a stranger and always had a joke to tell. And tell again. And again. He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, which included skydiving, a motorcycle trip up the Mississippi River with his wife, and the weekly summer field trips with his grandchildren. In his later life, he took care of his wife, Jan, during her long-fought battle with lymphoma until her death in 2021 and cherished his time with his great-grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Sondra Mitchell, Rhonda Hano, Patricia Ray, and Travis "Chip" Ware; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Courtney, Walter, Connor, Brooklyn, Audra, and Luke; and eleven great-grandchildren, Mikey, Graham, Killian, Theia, Aubrey, Mia, Emmalyn, Garrison, Gavin, Nolan, and Colton; and countless others who looked to him as a father figure and friend. He is preceded in death by his wife, Janis Carol Roath Ware; his daughter, Deborah Gail Ware; and his father and mother, Walter Travis and Emma Louise Ware. Pallbearers will be Randy Hano, Walter Hano, Connor Garrett, Audra Luke, Luke Ray, Mikey Murphy, Michael Murphy, and Percy Moore. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Cemetery, at 9595 Florida Blvd at 9am followed by a graveside service at 10am, Thursday, July 13th, 2023.
