

"Van Joseph Stevens, 88, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017. Van is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patsy Parrino Stevens; children Robert Charles Stevens and wife, Gwen, Brenda Stevens Catalanatto and partner, Lisa, and John Joseph Stevens and wife, Raylyn; grandchildren, Brandi Clay, Michelle Catalanatto, Jenny Donahoe, Caroline Stevens, Lauren Stevens, and Grant Stevens; great-grandchildren, Mikey and Patrick Clay, Harrison and Henry Donahoe. He is also survived by his sister, Marcella Stevens. He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddy and Zulma Stevens; siblings Kervin Stevens, Margeurite Bartell, Doris Cannon, and Betty Bergeron. He retired from Dillard's Department Store as a buyer. He loved God, leading numerous trips to Medjugorje and other religious places, his LSU Tigers, New Orleans Saints, and his orchids. He proudly served his country for 3 years in the ATR National Guard of the United States and as a Reserve for the United States Air Force. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst on Government Street on Friday, November 10th from 5:30pm "“ 8pm with a rosary being said at 7pm. Visitation will begin Saturday, November 11th from 9am "“ 10am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with mass at 10am and burial following at Resthaven's "Garden of Memory" Special thanks to Dr. Peter Bostick, Christy in the ER Treatment center at Our Lady of the Lake, and the entire 6th Floor ICU Staff. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Van's faith and love for is family was paramount in his life. His kindness and compassion touched countless lives, and his spirit will endure for everyone who knew and loved him.
