
Vanda Kay Bailey Heine Pennington, a housewife and loving mother and grandmother, passed away at 1:52 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, at Baton Rouge General Bluebonnet. She was 57, a native of Baton Rouge and resident of Port Allen. Vanda was a person who lived her life with all her heart. Friends and family who knew her know her by her love and laughter. She was always the life of any gathering and those who met her could not help but feel her warm personality. She enjoyed nothing more than making sure those around her were happy and taken care of, putting friends and family before herself. Vanda loved throwing gatherings and cooking for her friends, family, her son and his friends. One of her greatest joys was feeding her son and friends getting them through college and life after college as well. She will be missed and never forgotten. The impact she made on those who knew her will be with them forever. She is survived by her husband, Lee Anthony Pennington; step-daughters Brittany Pennington of Walker, and Karlee Pennington of French Settlement; sons Caleb Robert Heine of Baton Rouge and stepson David Pennington and wife Stephanie of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Gary Brint; and a grandchild, Cheynne. She was precede in death by her mother, Mae Newton; father, Van Bailey; and brother, Chuck Brint. She was a graduate of Istrouma High School, Class of 1976. A memorial Mass will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Her family would like to say a special thanks to the medical team supporting her final days, Nurse Meredith, Nurse Tammy, Father Charles Chuck Wuani and all of Baton Rouge General ICU-C.
