
Mrs. Robert L. Johnson, a homemaker, faithful wife, wonderful mother and grandmother and a friend to all, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008. She was 76, a resident of Baton Rouge for 54 years and was born in South Whitley, Ind. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Wednesday, Sept. 10, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visiting at University United Methodist Church, 3350 Dalrymple Drive, on Thursday from 10 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. J. Phillip Woodland. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert L. "Bob" Johnson, Baton Rouge; daughter, Ann Ruth Johnson and husband Mark Mobley, of Ponchatoula; three sons, Tim Dean Johnson and wife Lori, of Baton Rouge, Kelly Mark Johnson and wife Lynn, of Walker, and Todd Robert Johnson and wife Elizabeth, of Baton Rouge; a sister, Kathryn Betz, of Huntington, Ind.; and her pride and joy, seven grandchildren, Matthew, Sydney, Michelle, Parker, William, Austin and Amanda. Preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Baker Schipper; father, Herman John Schipper; two brothers, John and Homer Schipper; and two sisters, Marie Schipper Sickafoose and Lois Schipper Buffngton. She was a member of University United Methodist Church, served as president of Highland School PTA, University High Mom's Club and University Acres Civic Association. She was a past member of the Eastern Star and served as president of the Baton Rouge Art League. Memorial donations may be made to the University United Methodist Church, Baton Rouge.
