Velma Wesberry Lowry passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at age 83. She was a native of Wilkerson County, Miss., and longtime resident of Baton Rouge. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Thursday, April 14, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday is in the chapel from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Survived by her sons, George and Robert Lowry; brother, Wallace Westberry; three grandchildren and their spouses, Ashleigh and Danny Normand, Rixie and Adam Albright, and Jimmy Lowry; and six great-grandchildren, Luke, Ella, Ben and Beau Normand, Madison and Cooper Albright. Special thanks to her friends, Ed and Fannie Hodges. Preceded in death by her husband, C.V. Lowry; and great-grandchild, Carlin Normand. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice.
