

Virginia A. Major passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at her home. She was born in Glynn, Louisiana, on November 6, 1925. Virginia obtained an accounting degree from LSU in 1946, following which she became a Certified Public Accountant. She was an original partner in Posthlewaite Netterville from which she retired after a long and successful career. Funeral services will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2025 Stuart Ave. Baton Rouge, LA 70808 on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Father Allelo will officiate. Visitation will be at St. Aloysius prior to the service from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will be held in Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home. Virginia was preceded in death by her father, Sydney Major and her mother, Hortense Schmalzrid Major, as well as by her brother, Leland, and sisters, Marie Landry and Marjorie Martin. She is survived by her sister, Grace Kleinman and husband William R. Kleinman of Austin, Texas, nephews Randall L. Kleinman and wife Marla Hamilton of New Orleans, David Martin of Baton Rouge, nieces, Louise Kleinman, Diana Truman and husband Bradley Truman of Austin, Texas, Susan Kleinman of Austin, Texas, Maureen Hayter and husband Douglas Hayter of Dallas, Texas. The family extends a special thanks to her friend Susan Newton and to Jeanette London and Lamaya Taylor, for their love, care, support, and attention.
