Wallace Simoneaux Jr., 87, died Saturday, June 12, 2010, following an acute illness. He was a native and resident of Baton Rouge. He served as a flight officer with the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II and was a retired city-parish employee. Preceding his death, he arranged for donation of his body to Tulane Medical Center. Survived by his sister, Betty Bellue; daughters, Kim Hurst and husband Roddy, and Melinda Partin and husband Doug; grandchildren, Wes Partin and wife Kim, Taylor Partin, Katie Hurst Chatelain and husband Brett, and Caroline Hurst; and great-grandchildren Drew, Hudson and Elijah Partin. Preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Dillon Simoneaux; sister, Meredith Bourg; and brother, Byron Simoneaux. A special thanks to Dr. Edmund Vinci for many years of exceptional care. A time of celebrating his life will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, June 17, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a brief memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge or a charity of choice.
