

Walter Joseph Boudreaux Jr. “Poppette”, age 79, passed away on April 6, 2025. He was a resident of Baton Rouge. He served 2 tours of duty on in Vietnam with the U.S. Navy. He also worked at IBM and the State of Louisiana, where he eventually retired. Walter was a Scout Master and the Y Indian Guides. He spent his time tinkering with IT Technology; like phones, computers, and weather stations and enjoyed watching LSU football.
Walter is survived by his wife, Cathy Boudreaux; son, Shannon Boudreaux (Dawn); daughter, Jolee Boudreaux; step-daughters, Kim Fortinberry (Greg) and Kelli Oulman (Mark); along with 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Josi Boudreaux; parents, Walter Boudreaux Sr. and Aurelia Boudreaux; step-mother, Judy Boudreaux and brothers, Nelson and Adam Boudreaux.
A visitation will be held on April 10th at Rabenhorst Funeral Home on Florida Blvd. from 9AM to 11:30AM; with a funeral service beginning at 11:30AM, officiated by Pastor Matt Gazzaway. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Cole Fortinberry, Jacob Smith, Jacob Oulman, Tyler Boudreaux, Brycen Boudreaux and Austin Fortinberry. Honorary pallbearers are Greg Fortinberry, Mark Oulman, Kali Smith and Mikala Oulman.
