
I know your life on earth was troubled. And only you could know the pain. You weren't afraid to face the devil. You were no stranger to the rain. Go rest high on that mountain. Son, your work on earth is done. Go to heaven a shoutin', love for the Father and Son. After a courageous battle with cancer, Walt, age 55, passed away Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, while surrounded by friends and family. Walt was a resident of Baton Rougeand a native of Monroe. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, LaVerne Reed of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Donna Carlisle and her husband, Bill, and Jan Rome and her husband, Robbie, all of Baton Rouge, three nephews, John David Carlisle, Rob Rome and Jimmy Rome, all of Baton Rouge; two nieces, Jana D. Carlisle of Cut Off and Christy L. Carlisle of Baton Rouge; two great-nephews, Jordan and Jace; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter B. Reed Sr. The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, 1321 N. 7th St., West Monroe, on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 1 p.m. until religious service at 2 p.m. Interment in Hasley Cemetery, West Monroe.
