
Wanda Courville Young was entrusted to God's loving care on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at her home. She was 74 years old, a native of Chataignier and a resident of Baton Rouge. She was a retired nurse, a Eucharistic minister and a former Regent of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas with Our Lady of Mercy Parish. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, John E. Young; daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Byron Sanders, Patricia and Mitch Soileau, Paula and Kenny Blanchard, and Elizabeth Scallan; two stepdaughters, a stepson, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Al and his wife, Germaine Courville, and Kenneth Courville. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Smith; father, Delcombe Courville; brothers, Bertman Courville, Ronald Courville and D.J. Courville; sister, Yvonne Guillory; her baby, Maxie; stepdaughter, Carolyn; and grandson, Daniel. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, Jan. 22, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave., from 9 a.m. and until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Ansley Cemetery, Ansley, near Ruston.
