

A retired Louisiana Department of Labor employee and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 3:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 82, a native of Rayville and a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Sunday, Aug. 16, was from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting at University United Methodist Church on Monday, Aug. 17, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Phil Woodland and the Rev. Van Stinson. Survived by his wife, Carol Middleton Calhoun; three daughters, Stephanie Calhoun, of Fairhope, Ala., Beth Pecue and husband Will, of Baton Rouge, and Amanda Calhoun, of Denham Springs; two sons, Wil Calhoun and wife Taryn, of Santa Clarita, Calif., and Jerome Calhoun and wife Mandy, of Denham Springs; and seven grandchildren, Billy and Andrew Pecue, Cody and Austin Noel, Bren, Emily and Ian Calhoun. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Louise Traylor Calhoun; two sisters, Elizabeth Mays and Jean Foss; and two brothers, John Davidson Calhoun and Dr. Joseph D. Calhoun. Active pallbearers will be Billy and Andrew Pecue, Austin Noel, Joel and Woody Chew and Owen Rockett. Honorary pallbearer is Cody Noel. He was a member of University United Methodist Church.
