

"William Whitten "Bill" Kemp, Jr. passed away January 21, 2018 at North Point Healthcare in Baton Rouge after a long battle with Alzheimers and Parkinsons. Visitation will be 5:00 "“ 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Rabenhorst East Funeral Home, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Visitation from 9:00 "“ 11:00 a.m. at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 10230 Mollylea Drive, Baton Rouge, Louisiana Thursday, January 25, 2018, with services immediately following at 11:00 conducted by Rev. Ken Carroll. Burial will follow at Starhill Cemetery in St. Francisville, Louisiana. He was born August 2, 1934 in Amite, Louisiana where he grew up. He attended L.S.U. and graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University. He proudly served his country in the Army in Germany. He enjoyed his career working in human resources and retired from the Department of Health and Hospitals and later from Catholic Community Services in the senior employment program. He chaired many committees and boards during his career including chairman of the board for Louisiana State Employees Retirement System. After retirement, he spent many happy times fishing and hunting in St. Francisville. He was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge. He is survived by his wife Bonnie Kemp and son William "Trey" Kemp, and his grandchildren that he loved so much, Aaron Reagan and Zoe Amelia Kemp. He is also survived by one brother Hillery Kemp of Many, twelve nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Thelma Kemp, of Hillsdale and Blairstown respectively, sisters Katherine Cockrell and Carole Stevens of Baton Rouge, Nell Clement of Denham Springs, Hazel Deane of Pensacola, Florida and a brother Roland Kemp of Austin, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Services of the Capital Area, 3772 North Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70806 or Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 10230 Mollylea Dr., Baton Rouge, LA 70815.
