

Wilma was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished her family and spent much of her life supporting them. She worked for the Federal Civil Service for over 20 years and was proud to be a military spouse. Throughout her life, she was an active member of multiple churches. Most recently was First United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge. She volunteered both at the churches and in her community. Her hobbies and interests included gardening, reading, and giving back to others. Wilma was known for her generosity and deep commitment to those she loved and served.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth (Eliane) Rowe Jr. of Clinton, Connecticut; her daughter, Melissa (Lee) Montgomery of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; grandchildren Chris (Sarah) Katz of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Robert (Amber) Rowe of Charleston, South Carolina, Aaron Bizzell of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Lauren Montgomery of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; as well as numerous honorary grandchildren and great-grandchildren in Connecticut. She is also survived by her brother, Billy (Nancy) Morgan of Bryantown, Maryland, and her sisters, Shirley (Ronnie) Hatfield of Brenton, West Virginia, and Sheronda Shields of Cub Creek, West Virginia.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth R. Rowe, father, Lacy Franklin Morgan, mother, Mary Magadline Morgan, and her brother, Lacy Morgan Jr.
The funeral service will be officiated by Pattye Hewitt at First United Methodist Church. On Friday, January 3rd, visitation will be from 10am-11am, and the service will begin at 11am. Interment will follow immediately after the service for Mrs. Rowe.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge or to St. Jude’s Research Hospital. The family would like to thank Dr. Lee Montgomery and family, Aaron Bizzell, Chris and Sarah Katz, Dr. David Sledge, and Dr. Matt Randall for their care and support.
